Family Focus provides support to families in crisis before their children are placed on the At Risk register, through a parent support group, providing a programme of activities tailored to meet the individual needs of the child and parent, including an initial assessment of the child and the parent to establish their individual needs and then the setting of appropriate objectives and goals to meet these needs, development of activity programmes for each child, such as indoor and outdoor play activities on a one-to-one and group basis, messy play, physical activities, story time, craft activities and music sessions. £22,300.00 from BBC Children in Need contributes towards the salaries of a part-time Play leader and two Play Assistants. Children and young people are also offered one-to-one counselling as needed, as well as workshops on issues such as safety, health, child development and home skills.
