Loch Ness legends raise £135,000 for Tickled Pink

Asda’s senior meat buyer Jim Viggars and a team of 28 colleagues and suppliers completed a truly monster challenge when they set a new Guinness World Record by paddling the length of Loch Ness in kayaks.

The team took just five hours and 19 minutes to complete the 21 miles non-stop to raise more than £134,000 for Tickled Pink.

The video shows the team leaving Fort Augustus at 7 in the morning – and crossing the finishing line in glorious sunshine together as they arrived at Dores Beach more than one hour ahead of their own expectations:

Jim said he was “really really really proud of the team – it’s been a great day!”

There was only one capsize during the 21 mile paddle – but lots of aching limbs. Our meat and fish category director Rick Bourne said he was “really shattered”, adding: “I’m pleased it’s over. My legs are hurting. My shoulders are hurting.”

Well done, and big thanks to the whole team.
