This is a centre in Downpatrick that not only benefits the local scout groups but also another 20 user groups that share the same facilities.
However a lot of the users are from rural areas and have difficulties in attending sessions as transport is rare and costly. The scout group decided they needed to buy a mini bus so to accommodate all local residents that wish to attend these activities and group meetings.
This can be quite costly to run for the local Downs community transport dept are willing to help with maintenance and up keep of the mini bus. The Foundation has agreed to donate £10,000 towards the cost of the mini bus.
