More kids on their bikes thanks to Pedal Power 2009
When Asda CEO Andy Bond rode from Land’s End to John O’Groats in 2009, he was raising money for Bike Club – a new initiative that aims to use cycling as a means to engage with children and young people and challenge them to try something different.
The 2009 Pedal Power campaign raised over £1.2million to help Bike Club create more learning opportunities for children and young people and extend into Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Bike Club offers something to children outside the school curriculum. Youth clubs, extended services and youth groups are all able to use cycling as a great way to broaden the horizons of children and young people between the ages of 10 and 20.
