Baby questions answered - in Asda stores!

In July, Tommy’s and Asda joined forces to provide information sessions for new and expectant Mums in 35 Asda stores across the country.

Qualified Tommy’s midwives visited stores to hold evening sessions relating to pregnancy and childbirth, and were on hand to answer all questions and were on hand to answer any questions that arose on the night.

The midwives found that all the Mums were appreciative of the one-to-one time, and many had a lot of questions about labour, pain relief and advice on what to eat during pregnancy.

Reaching more mums-to-be with Tommy's info line

Tommy’s Pregnancy Information Line (currently 0207 3983483) is open Monday to Fridays, 9am – 5pm and is run by qualified midwives to provide one-to-one pregnancy advice to mums-to-be.

As of October of this year, the Pregnancy Information Line will become a freephone number – thanks to a grant from the Asda Foundation. With 1 in 4 women losing a baby during pregnancy or birth in the UK this freephone service is vital to helping Tommy’s to reach more mums-to-be.

As well as supporting the costs of the Pregnancy Information Line the Asda Foundation grant is providing additional support and training for Tommy’s midwives.
